Strength-and-conditioning support becomes critical from under-14 onward. Equipment policy varies — some academies provide bats and pads, most expect you to bring your own. A common pitfall is over-specialising too early. Kids pushed into batting or bowling tracks before age 12 often plateau when their bodies grow and their physical capabilities change. The opposite mistake is just as common — drifting between academies every few months chasing facilities, which stops any single coach from building a multi-season development plan.
