इंदिरा गांधी राष्ट्रीय वन अकादमी (IGNFA) की स्थापना वर्ष 1987 में तत्कालीन भारतीय वन महाविद्यालय का नाम बदलकर की गई थी, जिसे मूल रूप से 1938 में वरिष्ठ वन अधिकारियों के प्रशिक्षण के लिए स्थापित किया गया था। यह देहरादून शहर से पाँच किलोमीटर दूर चकराता रोड (NH-72) पर वन अनुसंधान संस्थान (FRI) के न्यू फॉरेस्ट परिसर में स्थित है। IGNFA वर्तमान में भारतीय वन सेवा (IFS) के अधिकारियों के लिए एक स्टाफ कॉलेज के रूप में कार्य कर रहा है।
